May you be found well

May you be found well is an inquiry into what wellness looks like when it cannot be seen. This hand-printed and -bound book of photographs and text explores the disparate ways that health is measured in both physical and mental capacities. In documenting these transient states of wellness, I argue that there can be no single ‘peak’ condition for which to pursue. Excerpts from journal entries during periods when my definition of home wavered between a haven to return to and a place mistrust would fester are reminders that even intrusive anxiety can be key to one’s healing. This book is a document of my findings and discovery of my own recovery, which had surfaced upon bodies and was hidden within shorelines, haircuts, and houseplants.
